Covid-19 Protocols

Practices
– Everyone shall wear a mask while on campus and in the gym.
– Players may temporarily (for a few seconds) pull down their mask during practice if they are having difficulty breathing.
– Players and spectators shall not enter the court and gym until the start of their assigned practice time and shall leave the gym promptly at the end of their assigned practice time.

Games
– Everyone shall wear a mask while on campus and in the gym.
– Players and referees may temporarily (for a few seconds) pull down their mask during the game if they are having difficulty breathing.
– In the Field House, players and spectators shall not enter the gym until the teams from the prior game have exited. Your coach will tell you when to come in.
– Players and spectators shall leave the gym promptly at the end of their game.
– There are NO limits on spectators at the current time.

No Handshake/Celebrations
– All shall refrain from handshakes, high fives, fist/elbows bumps and group celebrations during all games/events.
– “Air” high fives and thumbs-ups are highly encouraged!

COVID Symptoms
– If any player/coach is experiencing COVID symptoms, that player/coach shall not attend any in-person team activities.
– It is strongly recommended that any such person get tested for COVID. If unable to test, see the Positive Test Result section below.

Negative Test Result
– If any player/coach receives a negative test result:
– They shall be symptom and fever-free (with no fever-reducing medications) for at least 24 hours before rejoining team activities.

Positive Test Result
– If a player/coach receives a positive test result:
– For a player, their parent shall immediately notify their head coach of their positive result and identify the exposure risk to the team. Head coach shall notify division coordinator.
– They shall not join any in-person team activities for at least 5 days after the date at which the symptoms first appeared.
– To rejoin in-person team activities:
– They shall be symptom and fever-free (with no fever-reducing medications) for at least 24 hours.
– They shall receive a negative COVID test result at least 5 days after the date at which the symptoms first appeared

Exposed Player/Coach
– If a player/coach has been exposed (more than 15 minutes over a 24-hour period within 0-6 feet) to someone who has tested positive:
– For a player, parent shall immediately notify their head coach of their positive result and identify the exposure risk to the team. Head coach shall notify division coordinator.
– If no symptoms appear they may return to in-person team activities 5 days after exposure date along with a negative COVID test.
